My Weight Loss Success Story

It pains me to no end whenever I hear my friends complain about being fat and justify their weight based on the "fact" that it's impossible to lose weight once you reach your twenties.

If you're not happy with your weight, guess what? Complaining about it really won't change anything. So you have two options. One: accept your weight and be happy with who you are. Or two: get off your lazy butt, put down the junk food and lose weight. And that's exactly what I did.

Yes. I am living, walking proof that weight loss in your twenties - and even as a mother - is completely possible.

Here are pictures of me before I got pregnant (take note that I didn't say during my pregnancy, but before my pregnancy):

No, I'm not the pretty one in the middle
That's me on the left!

Yuuuuup.

And now, here are pictures of me eight months after giving birth and sixteen months after giving birth, respectively.

Feel free to keep scrolling up and down to see the difference. And, no, this isn't one of those fake before-and-after photos. This is real. This is possible.

After giving birth, I weighed a whopping 68 kilos (which really wasn't too much since I weighed 65 kilos before then) and was advised not to do any exercise for two months and then my doctor extended that advice for another two months.

So, when I was finally given the go-ahead to exercise my butt off, I exercised my butt off... and fainted on my second day of working out. That's when I realized that working out after more than a year of not exercising wasn't exactly ideal for me.

So instead, I decided to do something less strenuous: yoga. Three times a week for eight months straight. The result? See the eight months-after photo.

After that, I reached the all-dreaded weight loss plateau and started to get lazy because I couldn't see any more results coming about. So I terminated my membership at Fitness First and had zero exercise once again. Three months later, I was 5 kilos heavier again and decided it was diet-time.

Since diets never really worked for me in the past, I really didn't know where to start. And that's when I saw the Nestle Fitnesse ad (more on the actual diet that I followed for this later).

Thanks to the Nestle Fitnesse program, I lost 2 kilos in a single week and in two months, I had successfully said goodbye to rice and soft drinks. The result? I reached my weight goal and now weigh 48 kilos.

Of course, I still have my feeling-fat days and still feel bad when relatives comment about me being a lil on the malaman side but the fact is that I was able to lose 20 kilos. That's 44 pounds!

So stop complaining and blaming your age on your weight gain, girls. Find what works for you and get inspired, get moving, and get happy. :) It really isn't that hard.
